In 1968 Lamborghini founder, Ferruccio Lamborghini commissioned a unique Riva Aquarama to be fitted with twin V12 engines from his first road car, the 350GT. Full story and pics here.

Oldman Strength
The Oldmanlifestyle includes lots of home projects which naturally involve moving heavy things. Between the narration, clear sense of self-pride, grunts and business slacks, this guy does it right...

Imported Land Rover Defender 110 with UK plates and no visible VIN. Not even close to street legal, but driven to work in CA anyway. That's oldmanlifestyle...

How to tie your shoes, properly
A future post at oldmanlifestyle will discuss the importance of fine quality shoes and their positive affect on your comfort and wardrobe, but for now we'll focus on shoelace tying.
There are two forms of the common shoelace knot: a weak form and a strong form. We were likely taught the weak form. This TED (no relation) Talk does an excellent job of explaining the benefits of the strong form.

Oldman Furniture
Most people associate the oldmanlifestyle with ugly recliners from Levitz, Lay-Z-Boy, etc. They think the oldmanlifestyle is about comfortable but ugly furniture. This assumption is incorrect.
The oldmanlifestyle is about passionately appreciating furniture that you like, despite what others may think of it. Ugly/attractive, traditional/modern, stained/not-stained... it's all up to the Oldman.

Concerts and Staying Warm
Paul Simon lives the oldmanlifestyle. Here's why:
1) Paul Simon was born in 1941 - that makes him 70 years old!
2) Paul Simon seriously rocked (sometimes slowly) on 10/20/11 at the Greek Theater
3) Paul Simon, despite having 50+ high intensity lights shining down on him, played the entire show in a sport coat and scarf, surrounded by three outdoor heat lamps! Check the photo.
Stay warm...

Lakes
Lakes are great for the oldmanlifestyle. They're generally warmer, or warm up faster than the ocean, and they're perfect for recreational family activities like boating and skipping rocks.
If you're lucky enough to live next to a lake, it also provides you the opportunity to design and build a custom boat house, which is even better than a garage, because it has water for a floor.
If you live in cooler climates, lakes also give you a legitimate reason to purchase a hovercraft - something every man wants, but which is monumentally impractical, unless like I said, you live near a cold lake and volunteer with the fire department, mounted patrol, etc.

[Old] Man's Best Friend
This is the perfect old man video.
1. Old men love heroes
2. Old men love dogs
3. Old men are incredibly sappy. They lost their hard exterior and now tear up watching heartwarming youtube videos.

Welcome to the Old Man Lifestyle

If your Dad/Grandpa enjoys something, then so do I. My rationale: old men have years of experience; they know what tastes good, what's fun, how to stay warm, and when they need to go to bed to get a solid night's rest.
This blog will explore the Old Man Lifestyle through posts highlighting Old Men's hobbies, fashion, and general outlook on life. A small selection of future posts include: Getting Up Early, Sweaters, Dogs, Timekeeping, Making Inappropriate Comments and Slip On Shoes.
Enjoy.
